The Friends of Berks County Public Libraries co-sponsors this annual fundraiser with the Reading Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). Proceeds from the sale are shared between the AAUW, the Berks County Public Libraries System Headquarters and the Friends and is used to support the countywide Summer Reading Program for kids and to support scholarships within Berks County.
Book Bonanza is our annual used-book sale held each summer. We offer more than 50,000 books, in hardcover and paperback. There are children's books separated by reading level including fiction and non-fiction, classics, collectibles, teacher materials, reference items, audio, video, records, puzzles and magazines.
There are plenty of non-fiction items in all categories: history, biography, science, art, health, nature, hobbies, languages, sports and a large number of cookbooks. Our fiction selection offers all genres. We'll have close to 10,000 mysteries to choose from, recent and old favorites along with bestsellers, literature, romance, poetry, science fiction and fantasy titles.
Our collectibles area contains unique and special books; first editions, autographed copies, coffee table format, local interest and books by local authors as well.
